Hey John, since you started a new group for finance, I thought that it’s better I continue asking my queries here, so that they can be for future use of others who have similar problems.

OK. So the question is, what do the universities, colleges etc which are offering a “CFA Track” MSc. Finance really offer? Are these so called program partners better than the other colleges for MSc. Finance?

In other words, if I get into the CFA track program at Exeter, Leicester is it better than doing MSc. Finance from lets say, Leeds, Queen Mary’s (for example sake)?

How much of the CFA program do these MSc. Finance degrees truly cover?

    Looking forward to your replies,
    Dev

Wow! That’s a detailed question but I certainly don’t think having CFA makes the degree any better or more valuable.

Typically you will have the option to take levels 1 and 2 of the CFA program (there are 3 levels in all). But note it is not a part of the masters degree, you won’t pass the levels by passing your MSc courses, it only prepares you for the CFA exams which you still must take yourself.

CFA is a self-taught course usually taken by people once they are working in the industry. Of course it would be a great addition to your MBA to pass CFA early but I wouldn’t let it be the main reason for choosing one university over another.

Yes John, I feel it’s better to ask questions after doing a little research myself :)

Thank you for the reply, it’s very helpful. Do you have any list/recommendations to which colleges I can apply to? I’m on the path of gathering all information, so tell me about all the one’s that are worth applying to and are good.

You’ve seen my profile and I’m sure you would give me an exhaustive list based on that. :)

Thanks for the reply and I’m waiting for another helpful one!
