My name is Kieran and I am the founder of this website. I am from Britain but have been living for the past few years in Shanghai, if any members are in town be sure to give me a shout!

I graduated from Birmingham University in the UK, majoring in Geology. That led me to a career working on oil rigs around the world, it was an experience and one that ended in my moving to China and now finds me working on ApplyingTo.com.

I would like to apply to universities in Britain this year but a friend told me that June 30th is the application deadline in Britain. Am I too late to apply, must I wait for next year?

The June 30 deadline is only for undergraduate applications. I see from your profile you are in your final year of undergraduate study in China so i guess you are applying for postgraduate study. In this case there is no deadline for applications to UK universities but of course it is quite late in the year, you should apply quickly if you want to enroll this September.

That’s right! Although some very popular courses may become full, almost no masters courses have official deadlines for applications.

Hi all,

I am considering postgraduate studies in finance and I would appreciate any help from you guys.

I currently have offers from the University of Nottingham and Warwick. I have finished undergraduate studies in Nottingham, therefore, I know it is alright and cost 2.5 times less than Warwick.

Also applied to the Australian National University, waiting for response at the very moment.

The costs of masters are as follows:
Nottingham – £7k, ANU – £11k, Warwick – £17.5k.

Without scholarship I could not afford Warwick, therefore, I would like to ask if you could help me to decide which one to choose between Nottingham and ANU.
