I heard that universities in France are free even to international students, is this really true, are there no tuition fees in France for overseas students?

    Hi Timo

No, I am afraid this is not true but they are very cheap. International students get the same huge subsidies from the French state as their French classmates get so tution fees are very low, between 200-600 Euros per year!! So it is very affordable but you will need to be able to speak French to a good level for most courses. By the way, living expenses in France are quite high 800-1,000 Euros per month.

I know Sweden has had free education for international students but I hear they are scrapping this next year – too good to last I guess :-)

That’s great, thanks Mary. 200 Euros for one year, that is good value. I didn’t know Sweden was changing their policy thanks for letting me know :-)
